Welcome to the home page of the Beluga to Fairbanks (B2F) EIS
The Alaska Natural Gas Development Authority (ANGDA) is focusing on plans to construct a bi-directional natural gas pipeline connecting the Beluga Gas Fields to interior Alaska. Natural gas can be used as an alternative to fuel oil to decrease the cost of electricity in Fairbanks and the Interior Basin. The ANGDA small-diameter gas pipeline would be the first phase of an in-state gas distribution system. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Alaska District has been designated the lead Federal agency in the EIS process and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is a Cooperating Agency for the pipeline right of way. These agencies will coordinate the EIS process to satisfy the Federal and State permitting and authorization requirements.
